Welcome & Wellness
“People need more than food. They need dignity, hope, and empowered to move forward.”
Our Welcome and Wellness project offers a safe and supportive environment for those who use our foodbank to gain the skills, confidence and support to address the root causes that caused them to need the Foodbank in the first place.
In 2023/24, we were able to have 60 individuals on the programme, being supported weekly through tailored, expertly designed wraparound services.
It is our hope to continue to expand and increase our ability to empower and support those experiencing financial hardship and crisis. Through this work, we are already seeing many gain the skills, confidence and most importantly, hope to move into a more financially stable and secure position.
We do this through some of the following ways:
CV writing and training
Mental health and wellbeing support
Support for asylum seekers and refugees
Volunteering opportunities
Drop-in spaces to tackle loneliness and isolation
Sewing, art and creative groups
One-to-one support and triage
Our Approach
“Empowerment happens through relationship.”
Our team helps clients not only access support, but build confidence, skills, and connection. Welcome and Wellness is about more permanent long-term transformation, not just temporary relief.
We do this through getting to know those who are using our Foodbank service and in what ways we can help empower them in improving their current situation.
Given the opportunity, we find that many who use our services, are able to successfully regain financial security as a result of working with us to address their situational needs.
